Is your dog the happiest pooch on the planet? Do you have a ‘wonky’ dog who’s perfect in your eyes? Have you transformed the life of a rescued dog?
Ruffs – our alternative online dog show – is back, and we want to hear from you and your amazing dogs!
We celebrate dogs for their health and happiness.
Ruffs was born out of frustration with traditional ‘beauty pageant’ style dog shows like Crufts, which judge dogs primarily on their looks. Even when it’s these looks which can cause them pain and suffering.
Ruffs doesn’t care what a dog looks like, we’re not fussed if they’re a particular shape, size or colour, or if their blood is ‘mixed’ or ‘pure’. There are no ‘standards’ to be met, Ruffs just celebrates dogs for their health, happiness, and how utterly brilliant they are.
The Ruffs 2016 categories
Tinny’s transformationThis year, there are three categories in which you can enter your dog:
Happiest Hound – Send us pictures of your dog’s happiest, smiliest or most contented face.
Perfectly Imperfect – Especially for ‘wonky’ dogs who will never be ‘perfect’ according to a set of ‘breed standards’ – but are perfect in your eyes.
Best Transformation – Send us ‘before and after’ pics of your rescued pooch, we want to see examples of the most heartwarming transformations which show people that ‘rescued’ really is the best ‘breed’!
How to enter
To enter your dog, simply email your photos to campaigns@rspca.org.uk with a paragraph (no more than 500 words) about your dog and what categories you’re entering him/her in (you can enter them in more than one!). The deadline for entries is 28th February 2016.
