It’s not just Dogs and Dog Walking!

Today Zebbie was determined to get my attention when I returned from walking his four legged friend. He decided to lie on top of the record book I was writing my report in! So, I just had to stop writing! Don’t you just love them! I do!

Max meets Swans on our Dog Walk this morning!

I have been watching the progress of this pair of swans and their 2 cygnets since they were tiny. One of my dog walks includes walking along the River Allen which is the current home for these beautiful birds. The cygnets are nearly all white now. Max was a star and kept his distance. The dog training is obviously working as Max sat beautifully and long enough for me to take a quick photo of them. Well done Max! Thank you!

Fran has now been walking my dog for over 2 years and I am extremely happy with the arrangement. She obviously loves dogs and relates well to them. She is very aware of the need for training and good manners in a dog and has got Max walking very well on his lead. The behaviour of my somewhat self-willed Fox Terrier has improved a lot since Fran has been walking him. Fran has attended courses in dog Training and First Aid for dogs. Fran herself is totally trustworthy and always helpful.

The first frosty Dog Walk this winter!

Out early today on my dog walk with Archie. What a glorious morning to be out dog walking! Cold and frosty but dry with the sun coming out. Glorious! The ground was crunching under Archie’s paws as he keenly scented!

Fran has been a godsend to me. I work full time and unexpectedly found myself with a 7 month old Chinese Crested puppy when his owner sadly died. With 2 housecats in an already full flat, I needed support to not only exercise Rudy every day, but make sure he and the cats wouldn’t kill each other. I didn’t just need a ‘dog-walker’ (who are ten a penny) I needed someone who really cared about my animals and understood my anxieties. A ‘pet-Nanny’! Rudy is a funny little dog and doesn’t take to everybody, but from our first meeting I knew Fran was perfect. She didn’t crowd him, she let him come to her and now she is part of his (very honoured) inner circle. Two years on, the cats and Rudy live in harmony in a much more spacious house with a garden, but Fran remains integral to their day. She visits for an hour a day to walk Rudy and give the cats some love and most of all, removes any guilt or anxiety from me, knowing they’re having attention and stimulation whilst I’m at work. I couldn’t have kept all my pets AND worked the hours I work without Fran. She’s is trustworthy, kind, flexible and worth her weight in gold.

Interesting smells on our Dog Walk today!

Interesting smells on our Dog Walk today!

During our dog walk today – Archie was intrigued with this leaf and spent ages sniffing it!

Humans have 5 million scent glands, where as dogs have between 125 million and 300 million, depending on the breed of dog.

The mucus on a dogs nose actually helps it smell by capturing scent particles. When a dog’s nose in dry it will lick it to aid their scent. Wow!!

Otter on the River Allen, Wimborne!

Feeling very lucky!

I was out on my early morning dog walk with Max and we were walking along the path by the River Allen. We had just crossed the little bridge by the Allendale car park and there she was (small pretty head), swimming along the surface with her head just out of the water. She looked at us then dived and re surfaced a few feet ahead.

What an amazing sight!

“We engaged Fran based on recommendation – the best move we ever made. She has walked our lovely puppy since we got him. She is always available, always on time, we love her daily journal and her texts to confirm she has arrived offer great peace of mind to us when we have to leave him feeling guilty as we have to work. She is honest and reliable but perhaps best of all she loves our puppy and he definitely loves her. I have seen them out together on their walks and been home unexpectedly when she arrives, he definitely loves her. She has worked hard on his lead skills and behaviours and offers lots of great advice (but only if you ask, which I do now, often)

I recommend her without hesitation and happy to discuss with any one considering using her services (contact details available on request). We have recommended her to friends who have been equally delighted. Fran you are a true professional Thank you
