Four Paws Dog Willow being a Super 🌟 …

Four Paws Dog Willow being a Super 🌟

I love this photo! Willow is checking in with me as she knows not to chase other doggies balls.
We’ve been working really hard on this and Willow has done so well because chasing all 🥎 ‘s was her favourite thing to do! It’s just her own now!

Using a long line as a training aid made it much easier. Willow will even leave another doggie’s ball when off lead!

Well done Willow!  🐕 🌟 🥰

Four Paws Dorset Dog Willow having fun …

Four Paws Dog Willow enjoying a game of ‘swap the balls!’. Willow is pictured here in her garden after our very early dog walk. Such a happy girlie!

Our dog walk this morning had mainly included lead walking in the town (part of Willow’s on going training) so garden fun was very much deserved!

This is a great game if your pup is inclined to keep hold of their ball. This way Willow is kept constantly engaged and much happier to return to me and release her ball as she is watching the other one I am holding. In this photo I had mixed it up and thrown two balls together adding a different dynamic to the game as

Willow is brilliant at returning to me and giving me her ball.

Willow you are such a 🌟 puppy!

Four Paws Dorset, Dog Tip for Today – Anti Social Behaviour!

Posted by on Jul 1, 2025 in News | 0 comments

ANTI SOCIAL BEHAVIOUR

If your dog suddenly stops greeting you at the door, don’t assume you’ve offended them.

Sometimes dogs in pain become less social and may avoid contact with their owners.

All Dogs can be just as cute as Puppies!

Willow thoroughly enjoying her Dog Walk today!

Posted by on Jun 26, 2025 in News | 0 comments

HAPPY THURSDAY! Four Paws Dorset dog Willow thoroughly enjoyed our dog walk today. Our walk took us through the park (Willow’s favourite toilet stop!) and then on to the woods before returning through the town. This photo is from a few weeks ago but Willow is on the same tree trunk and I managed to get this photo of her today! Such a happy girl ‘look at me!’. Willow has her long lead on for safety as there was a road nearby.

I am working closely with Willow’s owner who is a wonderful lady. We are training Willow to become her Therapy Dog. During each of my visits Willow has a good walk first and during these walks we visit the town. This outside training includes heel work, helping Willow keep her attention on what we are doing, staying relaxed, happy and working on increasing her confidence with everyday sounds and general town life.

On our return we did some Therapy Training. Willow’s training is reward based and includes lots of praise and encouragement.   I am so impressed with both Willow and her owner! Next week we will be sending a Video in (to be assessed by the Therapy Team) showing what Willow has learn and can do so far. This is for her Bronze Award and is very exciting!

Willow you are a total Star!

Dog Walk this morning at Wincombe Woods, Shaftesbury

Posted by on Jun 25, 2025 in News | 0 comments

Mable and Rosie joined Four Paws Dorset with Holly and myself on this morning’s dog walk. Today we visited Wincombe Woods and the girls thoroughly enjoyed the varies paths we took, which included grass and wider tracks. All 3 had a wonderful time sniffing and exploring together. They were all off the lead where I knew it was safe to do so.

We met another Dachshund called Chester who they all enjoyed saying ‘hello’ to in their usual doggie way with sniffs and tails wagging!

I am keeping a close eye out for Adders during our walks as Adder bites tend to happen between February and October but are most common between June and August.

A very enjoyable walk had by all and 3 very happy doggies!

Four Paws Dorset is now located in Shaftesbury!

I am absolutely thrilled to now be living and working in Shaftesbury, (though I am still a regular visitor to my home town of Wimborne).

Since moving here earlier this year, I have been made to feel very welcome by my neighbours and local people. I am making new friends and new doggies of cos too!

I am offering the same Services as before but at my new location of Shaftesbury. Covering Shaftesbury, Gillingham, Motcombe and the surrounding areas.

It’s great to be exploring this new area and I have found lots of fantastic places with walks to take my Four Paws Dorset dogs!

Thank you again to everyone I have met so far for being so friendly and kind and I look forward to walking, training and taking the best care I can of local dogs, cats too and all 4 legged friends!

Exciting News! I am very thrilled to announce that Four Paws Dorset is open again.

Dog Tip for Today! Vomiting.

Vomiting.

Get the dog checked by a Vet if it displays prolonged or repeated vomiting or if the dog is lethargic or in obvious pain.

Do not feed the dog until it has seen a Vet.
